HMSA offers you different options when receiving care on the Mainland. Depending on your medical plan, you can receive services such as emergency and urgent care, or see a physician for a covered benefit.
Always carry your HMSA membership card. When you receive services on the Mainland, your HMSA membership card:
- Tells participating providers and Blue Cross Blue Shield Global® Core providers which independent Blue plan you belong to.
- Includes information the provider needs to properly file your claim for you.
To determine your coverage on the Mainland, you’ll need to know whether you have a preferred provider organization (PPO) plan or health maintenance organization (HMO) plan.
Note: Please refer to your Guide to Benefits or plan certificate for information about specific benefits and provisions of your plan.
