Important Updates
- No change to COVID-19 vaccine coverage: All HMSA plans will continue to cover COVID-19 vaccines at no charge for members age 6 months and older. However, please check with your pharmacy for any specific requirements, such as if you’ll need a doctor’s prescription.
- My Account has new online options for Proof of Coverage and Student Verification letters: You can now access and print Proof of Coverage and Student Verification letters by logging on to HMSA’s My Account and choosing Member Documents under Profile. Learn more about My Account.
Over-the-counter (OTC) health and wellness benefit: Starting Jan. 1, 2026, only members covered under the Medicare Advantage Dual Care Plan will have an allowance to purchase OTC health and wellness products with their HMSA Extra Benefits Card.
Only Medicare Advantage Dual Care Plan members who have one or more qualifying chronic conditions can also use the allowance to pay for healthy foods and home utilities. See list of qualifying conditions for Special Supplemental Benefits for Chronically Ill (SSBCI). Eligible members will be notified via mail from HMSA.
