PART A

Original Medicare from the federal government

Hospital insurance

  • Skilled nursing facility care
  • Hospice care
  • Home health care

PART B

Original Medicare from the federal government

Medical insurance
Helps pay for:
  • Doctor and other provider visits
  • Outpatient care
  • Durable medical equipment*
  • Preventive services

PART C

Medicare Advantage from a private insurer

(Included in HMSA Medicare Advantage)
Includes all the benefits of Part A and Part B, such as:
  • Hospital care
  • Skilled nursing facility care
  • Hospice care
  • Home health care
  • Doctor and other provider visits
  • Outpatient care
  • Durable medical equipment*
  • Preventive services
  • May include prescription drugs
  • May include other benefits at little or no additional cost**

PART D

Prescription drug benefits from a private insurer

(Included in HMSA Medicare Advantage)
Helps pay for:
  • Prescription drugs

* Oxygen tanks, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.
