Importance of Accurate Provider Network Data

Based on expectations of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), it’s essential that you keep us informed of updates to your practice to keep our provider directories up-to-date. These directories are essential for our members to gain access to you, our provider network. Your efforts can help members rely on our directories for accurate and timely information about the services they need.

CMS expects health plans to update provider directories monthly and to confirm your information quarterly. HMSA has engaged a third party vendor, OmniTrak, to survey our provider network every 90 days to meet this requirement.

If there are changes to your practice location(s), specialty, or patient acceptance status, please submit current HMSA provider notification change forms, available in the HMSA Provider Resource Center. Provide all requested information to prevent a delay in processing your request. When possible, submit changes three to four weeks before the effective date.
