Payment for inpatient long term care services is through facility-specific per diem rates based on the following categories and levels of care as appropriate.

1. Free standing skilled nursing facility
2. Free standing intermediate care facility
3. Hospital-based distinct part skilled nursing facility
4. Hospital-based distinct part intermediate care facility
5. Intermediate care facility/mentally retarded (ICF/MR)

Services Included in Per Diem Rate

The per diem includes basic nursing and treatment supplies, including durable medical equipment.
