Claims Filing Information
The CPT definition for code 82270 (Blood, occult; feces screening) indicates “1-3 simultaneous determinations.” Although three specimens generally are collected for the fecal occult blood tests, all three specimens are used to complete a single test, and payment will be made only for one service.
Return of Specimen
Do not bill QUEST Integration if the patient did not return the specimen card for testing.
