As a reminder, CMS requires prescription records be maintained by the pharmacy for a period of ten years; they are to be retained in the original format for the greater of three years or the period required by State Law, then may be transferred to electronic format for the remaining seven years. This requirement applies to all pharmacies filling Medicare Part D prescriptions, including LTC and home infusion pharmacies. For more information, please see the CMS website.
