Mobile Clinic Services
Effective 03/01/2021, only the lowest level evaluation and management (E&M) service (99211) provided in drive-through clinics are covered and are identified by Place of Service (POS) 15. Higher level E&M services (99202-99205, 99212-99215) billed with POS 15 without a confirmed mobile van are not appropriate when rendering services via a drive-through clinic for in-state providers and will deny as provider liable.
Providers with mobile vans that are able to conduct all the components of higher level E&M services may continue to bill with POS 15 as appropriate. Please contact us if you have a mobile van and are set up to render higher level E&M services.
POS 15 – A facility/unit that moves from place-to-place equipped to provide preventive, screening, diagnostic, and/or treatment services.
