Preferred Provider Plans
HMSA’s Preferred Provider Plans cover medically necessary injectable drugs. In general, plan deductibles must be met before benefits can be paid. See HMSA Plan Deductibles. Specific plan benefits can be viewed by using the HHIN+ Documents & Information.
HMO Plans
Injectable drugs are covered for members of Health Plan Hawaii and HMSA's other HMO Plans. HMO members are responsible only for the copayment specified by their plans (e.g., $10 or $15).
Do not charge HMO members in full at the time of service. Charge only the applicable copayment as shown in the HPH/HMO Commercial Copay Table.

Tax
Tax should not be billed for injectable drugs.
