Akamai Advantage Routine Hearing Exam and Hearing Aid – Claim Submission Guidelines

TruHearing Network Providers

HMSA partnered with TruHearing in the administration of in-network routine hearing exam and aids for qualified Akamai Advantage (AA) plan members.

  1. Plan members must schedule initial appointments with TruHearing Providers through TruHearing to utilize their hearing benefits. Plan members may schedule follow-up visits with TruHearing Providers directly with the TruHearing Providers.
  2. TruHearing will verify a plan member’s eligibility with the Plan. If the plan member contacts a TruHearing Provider directly (without contacting TruHearing first), the TruHearing Provider will verify the plan member’s eligibility by contacting TruHearing, if the plan member presents an HMSA insurance card.

TruHearing network providers are required to work with TruHearing and will receive reimbursement from TruHearing.
