HMSA expands its commitment to serving the state of Hawaii with new Neighbor Island Regional Director

The Hawai‘i Medical Service Association has served the state of Hawaii with high quality, affordable health plans for generations. To expand its service to communities on Hawaii Island, Kauai, Maui, Lanai, and Molokai, the health plan named Karey Kapoi as the Neighbor Island regional director.

One of Kapoi’s primary responsibilities is expanding HMSA’s community partnerships on the Neighbor Islands and supporting HMSA teams in Hilo, Kailua-Kona, Kahului, and Lihue. “HMSA provides affordable access to the best doctors and hospitals. That’s earned the company the respect of communities throughout the state,” said Kapoi. “My job is to build on that foundation and help make new connections in the community that will benefit our members, employers, and providers.”

Kapoi is a former assistant administrator and chief communications officer of the Maui region of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation. She grew up on Maui and lives there with her family.
