exams do more than adjust your eyeglass prescription. Comprehensive eye exams can
detect vision problems, including glaucoma and cataracts. Vision problems can also
indicate serious health problems, such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
Whether your vision is 20/20 or less than perfect, it’s important to see your
eye doctor regularly – no matter what your age.
Vision Plans
HMSA offers two vision plans to complement your medical coverage:
- Vision PPO – available for Preferred Provider
Plan and CompMED plans.
- Vision HMO – available for Health Plan Hawaii
and HMO Hawaii plans.

- Most of the annual costs for single vision, multifocal or contact lenses.
- Reasonably priced eyeglass frames every 24 months.

You will also have access to a large network of independent optical dispensers and
national optical retailers to choose from.
