Many oral health problems are preventable, and HMSA makes it easy to get the important preventive dental care you need. All HMSA dental plans cover two cleanings and two exams per year. You receive complete coverage for:

• Preventive services (oral exams, teeth cleanings, and X-rays).
• Basic restorations (fillings, extractions, and root canals).
• Major restorations (crowns, bridges, and dentures).

Dental Plans

HMSA offers two dental plans to complement your medical coverage:

• Dental PPO – Freedom to see any dental provider.
• Dental HMO – Receive all your dental care from Hawaii Family Dental Centers (HFDC).

Eligibility: HMSA dental plans are available through an employer group health plan. Check with your employer regarding your health plan benefits. If you currently have an HMSA medical plan but don’t have dental coverage, you and your family can get the dental care you need at discounted prices.
